- Even though my C-Section was pretty uneventful, I still have a goal of going fully natural if I am blessed with a second child. A few of the women in my babyfit.com due date club had some nasty problems with their surgeries. I feel lucky that nothing bad happened to me.
- Ironically enough I would totally get a mommy makeover (tummy tuck, breast lift) if I had the money when my baby-making days are over.
- I am sooo happy to not be pregnant anymore! Words cannot describe. If I could afford a surrogate mother the next time around I would totally do it. I’ve had the experience once, I don’t need to do it again. I seriously doubt I would love my child any less for not carrying it in my body.
- I sure wish I had met The Mister earlier and gotten this process started sooner! I just turned 33 on Sunday. I was nearly 13 years old when my mom was this age! I’m glad I had a chance to live my life pre-husband and child but I could have done this a bit earlier. Now I feel pressure to pop out another one before I get hit the “advanced maternal age” of 35.
- 35 is way too close around the corner for me to think about having another child. As soon as I get used to having my body back it will be time to destroy it again!
- If I could trade a woman a pregnancy for a labor I would. I’d much rather deal with labor than pregnancy.
- I made it out of this thing still wearing the same shoe size. Hurrah! I am sporting my favorite well-worn fall boots today and they fit just as well as they ever did.
- Where is my waist?!? Seriously…where is my waist?!?
- I was very fearful of developing post-partum depression. I definitely had episodes of crying post baby but at nearly 8 weeks post-partum I think I’m safe. I feel like things are under control now.
- I don’t like the crazy feelings hormones give me. I’m an even-tempered person and those nutty crying jags that are part and parcel of “baby blues” did not sit well with me.
- I’m still wearing maternity jeans. I bought some regular jeans from Old Navy but this stomach thing is so strange that it is hard to get a good fit. If the jeans fit in the legs my stomach spills out over the top. Yuck!
- The great thing is that my maternity jeans are a range of sizes. I started out in a size 4 (which I can’t fit yet) and I figure once I get back into those I’ll be good.
- They absolutely LIE when they say your maternity clothing size is the same as your pre-pregnancy size. At the beginning yeah (thus the aforementioned size 4 maternity jeans). At the end, ha! I gained weight in my lower half way before my stomach got big.

I had serious deja vu reading this post because I just went through it all. I am also 33 and just had my first baby (I was also almost 13 when my mom was my age…weird!). I feel ya on that 2nd baby…I can’t imagine doing it again so soon! …and why does two years feel like it’s around the corner?! Oh, and if you are exercising your tummy will start to sag less around week 12 (that was my experience).
How funny! My mom had just graduated from college when she found out she was preggo with me. I can’t imagine being in that situation when I was in school!
Two years feels like it is around the corner because IT IS. I don’t even want to think about it anymore LOL.
Here’s looking forward to Week 12 then. I will be at Week 8 on Saturday.
If we tried for baby three I’d be delivering at 35. So baby 2 will likely be our last. I always tell my husband we should have met earlier. 35 is automatically high risk for the mom and risks to baby goes up. That’s just too much to think about plus I don’t want to be super old dropping off kindergartners and even older at high school.
My mom had me around the same age I had my first. She was a bit younger and I was the 4th and last.
I see parents at h.s football games and they are just a bit older than us. They ask if my kid is playing and I say my husband is coaching and this is our only kid. They have teens and I have a baby. It can feel odd at times.
But as older parents we know more and earn more so maybe it has it’s benefits.
Yep. My mom missed out on so many of the things that I got a chance to do. I would not want to be a struggling 22 year old couple just getting started AND having a baby on top of that. I’ve have a chance to establish my career, to date, to travel all kinds of things before settling down. I’m not too upset!
You mom’s depress me! I am older than 35 and no man to have a baby with in sight! I know that my baby making days are probably over since I am high risk now and will be higher risk if I can find someone to impregnate me. Its weird that you always feel you have plenty of time…and then the time is over. Sigh.
People over 35 have babies all the time and they turn out just fine. Plus you never know…I had a resident advisor in college who’s mother birthed her triplets at age 55! Imagine my surprise to return to school for a visit and see that she was pregnant!

You say that…but the whole post was the “danger” 35! Sigh.
LOL I had the same feeling about getting pg again but alas here we are on baby#2. It’s quite an experience at least you are back to working out. I never really got back into working out post my daughter. Hopefully that will change this time around.
I HAVE to do something to lose all of this weight!
