2010: Last Year I…

  • Lost 50 lbs to get below my pre-pregnancy weight (but alas my body is still not quite the same)
  • Reached my December goal of doing 1 kipping pullup and 2 unassisted pullups (Video to follow soon)
  • Went from doing Couch To 5K in January to completing 11 total races including 2 half-marathons (well I was already a runner before having the baby but still…)
  • Lost about 32 inches from all around my body.  Nearly 5 inches off each thigh, 8 inches off my waist, 8 inches off my hips and 4 inches from my bust :(
  • Placed 6th out of 20 women in a CrossFit competition
  • Averaged 5 workouts a week, every week this year
  • Ran 450 miles since starting to use DailyMile in May.  I’ve been running since Jan so my actual mileage is much higher than that!
  • Knocked 8 minutes off my 5K time
  • Learned so much more about nutrition and how I deal with nutrition personally thanks to the Lean Eating coaching program (Please note, I get no money for mentioning this program!)

You are such an inspiration! It’s always amazing to see somebody who works, and has a family, yet is still able to make time to work out, and make sure that your health is in order. You are just amazing!

Thanks! There are drawbacks to everything though. I have to choose my priorities. My house is often a mess. I have to go to bed at 9:30PM and I don’t get to watch much TV during the week. :(

    You are a frickin rockstar.

LOL! Thanks. I’m just trying to get my body/fitness back to where it was before the baby!

You are my sHERO! Imma be like you one day.

I am planning to start Couch to 5K to run my first 5K the first week of May. Considering I couldn’t run 1 block even if a murdered was on my heels, this is a huge endeavor.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Couch To 5K is an excellent program and completely do-able for anyone – a great way to get started running – no matter what your fitness level. Only simple advice is that if you decide to take up running on a more permanent basis – get fitted for running shoes at a running shop. CrossTrainers are fine for short runs and doing C25K though. If anything starts to feel funny though – consider getting fitted for proper shoes.

  6. I’m scared of you! LOL! You put in the work, now enjoy the fruits of your labor :) (no pun intended)

You are an excellent example of how far we can come with a lot of hard work and dedication to our goals. Thank you for being an example!

You know what makes your success all the more amazing? That you did it while raising your son. I am totally wowed. Congrats!

Thanks! I had a lot of help from The Mister though. I pretty much have the mornings free to myself if I am willing to get up super early. I recognize that not every mother is that lucky. Hmm…although he does have a vested interest in me not weighing 80lbs more than I did when we got married. Maybe that’s why he was so helpful? LOL!

Congrats! That’s pretty amazing! And now I feel extra lazy :-)

    ::re-lurking:: (is that a word?)

We all do things in our own time. Lord knows I went through years upon years of laziness.

Thanks for de-lurking! I need to do a lurker roll call one day because I truly have no idea how many people read. I think I haven’t because I’m scared that only 5 people will comment and they will be the people I know IRL already LOL!

Great job! These are fabulous accomplishments!

  11. Wow! Fifty pounds! Awesome! I am trying to get my mind right because I need to lose some weight before we try to get pregnant and I don’t have a lot of time. Pray for me!
