Stats for the week.
-.5 pounds. The scale did not lie! That mysterious 3 pound gain finally went away and took .5 more pounds with it. Huzzah! Hip and waist are each down .25 pounds. I just might make a huge weight loss goal by Jan 1st after all.
What kind of exercise did you do this week?
One complete CrossFit session, one aborted CrossFit session. 2 Couch To 5K Sessions. My back failed me again during CrossFit Tuesday and on Sunday thus the skipped cardio session. Ugh!
What was something positive that happened in regards to fitness this week?
I’m running for longer stretches of time with Couch to 5K and handling it well. Week 5, Day 2 had 2 8-minute jogs and they were pretty easy. I think this plan is genius. It is just what I needed to get back into running slowly after baby.
Anything you can do to improve on fitness this week?
I’m doing it on Wednesday. The only reason I skip workouts is because my back acts up. I’m going to see a chiropractor on Wed. She is also a certified personal trained. I hope this helps her handle me better. I just want the random pains to stop. I don’t want to go to a regular doctor yet because I think they’ll just give me some muscle relaxers or something. It doesn’t hurt that bad all the time!
Food?
I’ve been doing a good job of cooking healthy meals and eating the leftovers for work. When I was pregnant I ate out for lunch EVERY day. Bad news. I’m also succeeding at getting in more snacks and fruit.
Anything you can do to improve on your diet this week?
I need to start journaling my food intake again. I just haven’t taken the time or had the energy to do it. I know this is something that helps me so I will get back on it.
Anything else?
- I completed Couch To 5K Week 5, Day 3 this morning. 20 minute jog, no walking. I didn’t die and I didn’t walk. True, I’m going slow as all getout but I’m working on endurance and not speed now. I was so proud of myself.
- Long.and.Lean jeans from The Gap are awesome. Despite the name representing all the things that I am not (I’m 5’4 with short legs and not so lean right now), I love the way they fit me at any size. If they were a bit shorter (but not petite short) they would be perfect. I’m in a 14 (gulp!) now but I will get back down to my size 2′s. I have Size 10s, 8s, 6s, 4s and 2s in my closet already from my previous boughts with weight loss. After I get a Size 12 (Santa?) I will have all my sizes covered.
- Why can’t I drink Sugar-Free Red Bull and still pump milk for the baby? Maybe I could but I’d prefer not to. The Baby is already back to waking up all crazy hours and the last thing he needs is liquid cocaine coursing through his veins. Mommy needs some energy though! Seriously!

Congrats on the loss!! You’ll be back in the 2s soon, don’t worry!! Especially after you start the Insanity!
hey! thanks for your comment on my weight lost post today. you inspired me to write it after reading about your plan of action. you’re so right that it takes diet and exercise. you seem to have the exercise regime down to a science. seeing a nutritionist could help you take your weight loss to the next level. thanks also for recommending cross fit…I will look into it!
I didn’t know you had a blog!
Ok, i’m now officially convinced to try the couch to 5k plan. This is awesome. I’ve always wanted to be a runner and now I think I can.
And YES – Gap Long and Lean jeans are the shit. I don’t like any other jeans after wearing these.
C25K rocks! Definitely get the Ipod app if you have an Ipod Touch or IPhone. I was going through my (too small) jean collection and I have about 10 pairs of Long and Lean jeans. Nuts!
