So Random

  • Between party planning and selling all kinds of stuff on Ebay to make extra money to hold said party, my brain feels like it is about to explode.  Thus the lack of coherent blog posts lately.
  • Rest assured, I’m still kicking it hard on the exercise front and cleaning up the diet quite nicely again.  Half-marathon training is in full swing now and for the next 6(!) months.
  • I found my way back to my favorite step class and I had a blast.  I was a little rusty but didn’t embarrass myself too much.  The girl beside me got all confused, tripped and busted her tail.  Does it mean that I’m a real grown-up now if I didn’t even crack a hint of a smile?
  • The instructor for the step class has like a crazy cult following (self included).  She taught at Bally’s and they closed down.  The new class is at LA Fitness.  Almost a year later and the same people were in the class. The guy who gets all the steps but is missing some rhythm so he just looks a little off…  The older woman with the too long, too blond hair (cut that stuff short once you hit 50)…  The chicks who think it is club step (just do the steps and stop adding in the cha-cha slide please!  It confuses the rest of us.)…  The only one missing was the lady who didn’t have a membership and used to sneak in the side door (I pay so you need to pay!).
  • I had a pair of Size 10 Long and Leans from Gap in the closet that I purchased a long time ago.  I decided to try them on and see how far I had to go to squeeze into them.  Imagine my surprise when they fit perfectly!
  • My Nike Free Run+ sneakers finally arrived!  I mainly bought them because I need some new gym shoes and all the other CrossFitters have them. I don’t see how I can run in these but I’m going to try it out.  I’m very curious to see how (faux) barefoot running feels.
  • Love the new Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles singles.  New poppy music coming soon for me.  Yeah!
  • Lewis has taken to expressing himself through dance.  It is so funny!  He will bust out what looks like that old school dance “The Snake” at the most random times.  He keeps a cold serious look on his face too.
  • We are seriously considering dropping satellite TV when our 24 month contract ends this month.  Maybe I will be more productive in the evenings without the distraction of TV.  Or maybe I will go nuts when I wash dishes and there is nothing to watch to pass the time.

I want to give up cable downstairs (need it in my room!) and with netflix and catching up on shows, it doesn’t seem to be a problem…but I am afraid to let it go. Nothing worse than not finding something to watch. :)

That won’t save you any money will it? I am afraid but I get so behind on certain shows and EVERYTHING is available online. If we hook our old desktop up to the TV it will be much easier to watch.

  2. I am finally ready to cancel cable and use that money for something else. We have Netflix and a Roku box and a docking station to watch Hulu on the TV. I think I am covered

I forget about Hulu! $90/month for Direct TV. That is more than $1K per year when I only watch about 3 cable channels. SMH

Baby dancing is the cutest thing ever! Princess J dances( most time to no music lol) and I love it. If you chant * Go Jassy, Go Jassy* she’ll bust out some moves lol.

I was without cable for a good 3 months and for me, it was horrible. But I watch more than 3 shows lol. i also don’t own a computer so I can’t watch anything online. My DVR is cool with me. Cable with time warner is much less( and would be 10 bucks cheaper is I didn’t have a DVR lol) But also now that baby is so into her shows on Nick Jr. I wouldn’t want to take them away. They are life saver in the morning when I’m trying to get dressed for work.

Yes…I would save money because I am renting the DVR for about $15 a month. I already cut my cable down to the lowest cable package because I rarely watch all those “extra” channels.
