Three Things Thursday

  • I wrote a guest post for Teresha over at Marlie and Me. She recently gave birth to a handsome baby boy. I’m taking furious mental notes about her family’s “growing pains” as they adjust to having two little ones. Even though we are trying for another, I feel paralyzed with fear at the thought of having a newborn right now.
  • I have a lot of posts to write! I completed the SweetH20 50K last Saturday. I’ve also made some progress resolving my shin splints issue…which wasn’t really shin splints.
  • I was very happy to see that blog ladies Elizabeth at Running For Bling and Katie and Katie Runs This were selected to be a part of the Nuun Hood To Coast team. I was sad to see that bloggy friend Alma didn’t get picked. I don’t like that they opened it up to people who had already done it last year. It seems like it would be difficult to make an unbiased decision in that case – especially since the application process was creative. But hey, I don’t have enough money or connections to sponsor anyone so my opinion doesn’t really matter! I didn’t apply because I could never get my stuff together and come up with a good creative idea. I used to be all hot and bothered about doing a relay because I wondered if I could handle the distance/conditions. That was before I realized that I could run some pretty amazing distances on my own! We have a couple of local relay events that seem interesting but I’m a bit turned off by all the costs & hassle involved.

    Wasn’t really shin splits????
My friend just had a baby….so cute she makes my overies twitch. but then, she complains about life with the busy toddlers and the newborn…..

I haven’t even felt twitchy about it. Babies are cute but now I know how terrible that first year will be. And I can only imagine how much worse it will be with another child to consider. The older Lewis gets, the more I will be able to cope!

  2. I like the idea of running a team relay, in concept… But I’m with you on being dissuaded by the cost.

With friends, this could definitely be fun. The cost abd logistics are crazy though. Vans, drivers…all that stuff.

I don’t know why I’m so thrilled that you’re trying for another baby..I just am! LOL! :D

I feel kind of slow sometimes because a lot of the other daycare mommies are hugely pregnant or have already delivered another child.

  4. thanks again for the guest post! It was well-received :-)
taking care of a newborn and toddler is hard, but it gets a little easier each day once you start figuring out tricks to keep things from going completely to hell

I’m glad people liked the post!

I’ll have to go back to work in 8 weeks. I can’t picture any scenario where the hours from 6-9 are not chaos. As a bonus, I’ll probably have to do it all alone since The Mister is forced to close a lot.
