I’ll write about it at length later and post pictures, but I finished the race today. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an emotional rollercoaster in my life. I know I should not be disappointed because it was my first marathon, but I can’t help it. The results are “unofficial” right now but my time was 4:29:31…not even close to the sub-four I trained for.
It didn’t rain a bit despite the 100% precipitation predication. However, the temperatures hit the seventies according to my sister (and the sweat rolling down my face) and it was crazy humid. That is not a good thing for a marathon (ideal temps are ~50 degrees). That is especially not a good thing when you are wearing long pants and a warm T-shirt because it was supposed to be 60-ish and pouring. Sigh.
Oh, I’m so sorry you are unhappy with your time. But, Keyalus, YOU DID IT!!!!! You should be very proud of yourself. I know everyone in blogland is!
congrats! stinks about the weather- i hate wet weather.
cant wait to see pictures!

Thanks Kelly! Despite my fears (and the 100% precipitation weather report), it didn’t rain at all! It just got so hot and humid that I prayed for rain LOL.
Congrats!!!
Thanks! Thank God it is over! I feel so free now.
