I have so much stuff I want to write about, but I can’t seem to gather my thoughts. Bullet points are all I have for now.
I can’t stop eating these chickpeas. So addictive!
I’m up to a 5 mile long run and scheduled to take it to 5.5 miles this weekend. Bring on that 10K! My legs still feel strong.
I was watching that old “Hip Hop Abs” infomercial at the gym this morning. It was so annoying! To imply that you can get a six-pack by “tilt-tuck-tightening” your abs is ridiculous! There is no magic exercise that will give you a visible six pack. The lack of a six pack also says nothing about your core strength. That layer of fat covering up the muscle is the problem. No one has control over where fat loss occurs so you can hip hop abs it all you want and you still might not have a six pack.
Plus, you know they are leaving out the diet portion of their lose 6 inches in 6 days claim. I bet there is an extreme low-carb plan attached to the early program days that causes the weight loss. Ugh! That commercial really annoyed me.
Disco Diva pointed out another local obstacle race coming up in September. I’m not too sure about this one. We do everything they show for obstacles (except for the wall climb) in CrossFit regularly. We also do exercise according to the Tabata protocol (20 secs work, 10 secs rest, 8 rounds) regularly. I know I CAN do it. I’m just not sure I want to do that outside in the heat in early September and pay $60 for it.
Baby boy took a few steps yesterday afternoon! He is getting to be such a handful now that he is more mobile. Lord help me when he really starts walking! I can hardly control him when he is just cruising and army crawling.
I went to a Cupcake Smackdown (congratulations Barista!) on Sunday. If you want to be put off sugar for a while – attend something similar!
I started the 100 pushups plan last week. I missed Day 3 and I can’t seem to muster up the strength to make it up today. Could it be the 60 pullups that I did on Monday? My arms feel like they are going to fall off!

I have 1 hour a day during the week to work out and I make sure to get it in. Go hard or go home!
I never thought I would get sick of cupcakes but I did. After 20 tastings I STILL don’t want anything sweet. Thank goodness all of them were not to my liking!
Let me come rub shoulders with you so I can get a a little of that workout motivation! If it wasn’t just me and princess J I would make more of an effort but after I pick her up from daycare when work is over all I wanna do it be with her and play with her. Working out is the last thing on my mind.
I am lucky that I can exercise early AM. The Mister works from home so I don’t have to hussle off to daycare. As soon as I get home from work, it is all about baby boy. If I don’t exercise in the AM, I can’t do it.
I think you would do so awesome in the dash…its totally unlike the Warrior. $60 is pricey and it will be slightly warm…but I think you will have more satisfaction than the wimpy Warrior Dash.

LOL! Try it. I’m slacking so far because my arms have been sore from bootcamp lately. And I do remember you asking about the C25K app. So glad to have helped get you started. When you get arms of steel from doing 100 pushups you can say you owe it all to me LOL!
I checked out that recipe, and it looks good. Im ALL over that next time I go to the store.

You should do the plan then! The site caters to people of all levels. You take the initial test and it gives you an appropriate 6 week plan.
